How did OH’s Vineyard get started?

OH’s Vineyard began with a dream inspired by Walo’s culinary background and his passion for wine. Six years ago, we decided to move to Loudoun County and buy a vineyard so we could be more connected to the land, pay close attention to what we grow, and dedicate ourselves to making exceptional Virginia wines. What started as a passion has become a family journey focused on quality, craftsmanship, and sharing our love of wine with every bottle we produce.
Do you grow your own grapes?

We grow many of the grapes used in our wines right here on our estate vineyard in Loudoun County, Virginia. Because we are a small, boutique vineyard, we also partner with trusted neighboring vineyards to supplement our production and source varieties that are not planted on our property. By working with local growers who share our commitment to quality, we can craft exceptional wines while supporting the Virginia wine community.

At OH’s Vineyard, every decision begins in the vineyard. We carefully farm our estate vines in Loudoun County, Virginia believing that exceptional wines start with exceptional fruit. Our small-batch approach allows us to focus on quality over quantity, crafting wines that reflect each vintage and the unique character of our land.
What makes Virginia wines different?

Virginia wines are unique because they reflect the state’s distinct terroir: the combination of climate, soils, elevation, and growing conditions that gives each wine its own character. Our warm days, cool nights, and long growing season help produce grapes with excellent balance, bright acidity, and expressive flavors. Rather than trying to replicate wines from California or Europe, Virginia has developed its own style, known for elegance, freshness, and versatility at the table. Signature varieties such as Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Petit Manseng, and Bordeaux-style blends have helped establish Virginia as one of the country’s most exciting wine regions.

Many Virginia wineries have earned national and international recognition for producing elegant, award-winning wines that pair beautifully with food and showcase the unique terroir of the Commonwealth.
Why did you choose Loudoun County for your vineyard?

Loudoun County offers an exceptional environment for growing premium wine grapes. Its rolling hills, well-drained soils, and favorable climate allow us to produce fruit with balance, complexity, and vibrant character while being part of one of Virginia’s most celebrated wine regions.
Why do you work with other local vineyards?

Collaboration is an important part of Virginia’s wine community. Partnering with neighboring growers allows us to supplement our estate fruit, explore varieties we don’t grow ourselves, and support fellow local vineyards while maintaining the quality our guests expect.

Can I visit the vineyard?

Our vineyard is not currently open for regular public visits, but we invite guests to experience our wines at our Wine Salon in Round Hill, Virginia, where you will enjoy curated tastings and discover the story behind every bottle.
